¿Cuál fue tu inspiración Elixir?
After my first two fragrances, S by Shakira and Eu Florale, I wanted to do something different, a little more exotic but still really natural, like a second skin. Después de mis dos primeras fragancias, S by Shakira y Eau Florale, yo quería hacer algo diferente, un poco más exótico, pero todavía muy natural, como una segunda piel. I think with Elixir we've really accomplished that. Creo que con Elixir realmente hemos logrado. I'm proud of what we've created with this scent; it still smells perfect to me and I'm a tough critic! Estoy orgullosa de lo que hemos creado con este olor, que aún huele perfecto para mí  yo soy un crítico duro!

Why did you choose to release a new fragrance that, as you said, is more sensual and exotic? ¿Por qué eligió  lanzar una nueva fragancia que, como has dicho, es más sensual y exótico? Do you feel more sensual at this point in your life? ¿Te sientes más sensual en este momento de tu vida?
I don't know that I would say I feel more sensual or exotic than before, but I'm definitely in a great place in my life, and I hope that translates in my work, both with the fragrance and the new music I'm working on. Yo no sabía que iba a decir que me siento más sensual y exótica que antes, pero definitivamente estoy en un gran lugar en mi vida, y espero que se traduce en mi trabajo, tanto con la fragancia y la nueva música que estoy trabajando.

Is the new fragrance in relation to new music? Es la nueva fragancia en relación a la nueva música?
I actually do think the process is similar for me. En realidad, creo que el proceso es similar para mí. When I'm working on music, I need to find that perfect balance. Cuando estoy trabajando en la música, tengo que encontrar el equilibrio perfecto.I do the same with the fragrance – it needs a little more of this, less of this, etc. Fortunately for me, though, I have great partners and work with a wonderful team of chemists who take my notes, re-work it and make magic. How do you combine these two creative entities? ¿Cómo se combinan estas dos entidades creadoras?
I don't really combine them, per se, but they're both an extension of me. Realmente no combinarlos, sino que ambos son una extensión de mí. As an artist, I tend to be very involved in all of the creative aspects of my career, so whether that's writing and producing a record or developing a scent, it usually speaks to where I'm at in my life and what I'm feeling at that moment. Como artista, me inclino a estar muy involucrado en todos los aspectos creativos de mi carrera, por lo que si que está escribiendo y produciendo el desarrollo de un registro o un olor, por lo general se dirige a donde estoy en mi vida y lo que estoy sintiendo en ese momento.

You have accomplished so much in your life and career, what are your future aspirations? Has logrado tanto en tu vida y su carrera, ¿cuáles son sus aspiraciones para el futuro?
I've been working for years on providing education to disadvantaged and displaced children in my country, Colombia. He estado trabajando durante años en la prestación de educación a los niños desfavorecidos y desplazados en mi país, Colombia. We're currently building our sixth school and bringing our experience to projects in other countries, such as Haiti and South Africa., as well as promoting Universal Education on a global level. En estos momentos estamos construyendo nuestra sexta escuela y llevar nuestra experiencia a proyectos en otros países, como Haití y Sudáfrica., Así como promover la educación universal a nivel mundial. I think I'll be truly satisfied when every child in the world has access to a quality education and I hope I'll be able to see that day during my lifetime. Creo que voy a estar realmente satisfecha cuando todos los niños del mundo tengan acceso a una educación de calidad y espero que voy a ser capaz de ver ese día en mi vida. It's something I am truly passionate about and I am convinced it is the answer to eradicating poverty, violence and economic struggle. Es algo que estoy verdaderamente apasionada y estoy convencida de que es la respuesta a la erradicación de la pobreza, la violencia y la lucha económica.

With my career, I'd really just like to continue to grow as an artist, a songwriter and producer and hope that my music continues to allow me to tour the world and perform for my fans. Con mi carrera, realmente me gustaría simplemente seguir creciendo como artista, compositora y productora y espero que mi música siga permitiéndome  recorrer el mundo y llevar a cabo para mis fans. That's probably my favorite part of my job. Eso es probablemente mi parte favorita de mi trabajo.

Is there a particular artist and/or person that inspires you? ¿Hay un artista en particular y / o persona que te inspira?
Right now I'm really inspired by dance music and what's going on in the DJ electronic world, but my roots are more rock & roll and folk – I've always drawn inspiration from Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, amongst many others. Ahora mismo estoy muy inspirado por la música de baile y lo que está pasando en el mundo del DJ electrónico, pero mis raíces son más rock & roll y folk - Siempre he inspirado en Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, entre muchos otros.

What would you hope people can take away from all of your creative endeavors? ¿Qué espero que la gente pueda tomar a distancia de todos sus esfuerzos creativos?
I hope I can make my fans happy, make them dance, inspire them and accompany them. Espero que pueda hacer que mis fans sean felices, hacerlos bailar, inspirarlos y acompañarlos.

Will you be touring anytime soon? ¿Va a estar de gira pronto?
Yes, I'll likely tour next year. Sí, lo más probable es que este de gira el próximo año. I don't like to stay off the road for too long. No me gusta estar fuera de la carretera durante mucho tiempo.

What are you currently working on? ¿De qué estás trabajando actualmente?
I'm currently working on my new album and hope to share some new music with everyone really soon, and it's taking up just about all of my time! Actualmente estoy trabajando en mi nuevo álbum y espero poder compartir algo de música nueva con todo el mundo muy pronto, y se está ocupando casi todo mi tiempo!
